This is definitely not your feel-good, cute and fluffy dog story, not that you would imagine it to be, knowing Adam’s rather – let’s say – quirky brand of creativity.

Following on from the heroic pound rescue (#1 book), these two dysfunctional doggos are cruising the streets, still without a home. And without a home, there’s no full dogbowl so what is the option? This disreputable pair need to scrounge but, unfortunately, their attempt to wheedle from the local butcher is a complete disaster – *cue butcher screaming and slamming door*.

The next choice is to steal their sustenance – and a convenient picnic basket at the park is just the ticket. Well, it is until Scuttlebutt’s diversionary tactics create such mayhem that the attention of S.M.Ellybutt, the dog catcher, is alerted, and pandemonium ensues. And when Pugnacious & Scuttlebutt create chaos, hilarity follows!

Kids scooped into piles by an enraged dog catcher with St Bernard poop between his toes, butt-shuffling greyhound, snarling and slobbering crazy pug, mouthy duck who regrets his decision, really annoying and demanding kids (aren’t they all?)….. and then another heroic rescue!! This time it’s daft Scuttlebutt and cranky Pugnacious who are the surprising heroes …and even media stars!

Kiddos from around 8 will lap up the antics of these two ridiculous but strangely charming canines – loads of action, snappy text and heavily illustrated in fantastic cartoon style – what’s not to love?

I have to say…Adam is one of my favouritest crazy people and I know every time I read his stuff, I will laugh, but even better, every time I share it with kids THEY laugh too!

Get into it now – pick up the first one if you missed it at the same time!! Highly recommended for your readers from around year 3 who are into bum humour, weird characters and absurdity.
