You already know if it has the Temple names on it, it’s going to be a fab and funny book that your kiddos will love. And I love their books as well, for off-the-wall absurdist humour and no need to go digging deep (though I’m sure some will manage to do so and kill the mood). Anyway, moving right along.

Goat thinks he is the Greatest Of All Time, and thinks everyone else is nowhere close, for example, Duck = Deadly Underwater Crumb King. It is typically Temple crazy, and the goofy illustrations from Rebel Challenger are a perfect match for the text (and the end papers are SUPER!). Of course, if you want to bang on about acronyms, this is a great opportunity to do so, and I’m sure you and your kiddos could come up with plenty, not just confined to animals.

And yes, I guess, if you really felt compelled to do so, you could go into some kind of discussion about self-importance, and what constitutes self-value – but really, why not just see where it takes you?

Highly recommended for kiddos from about Year 1 upwards.
