It has been my great privilege to be friends with Michael for almost a decade now. He is not only a man of immense talent, an illustrious creative career spanning decades across genres, but is an exceptionally warm and wonderful human.
One of our fondest memories, since The Kid came to live with me is our dinner with Michael, here in Redcliffe. He was a person with whom she immediately connected – at a time, when she was very much not a socialiser. We are blessed to own several of his books amongst them signed favourites – especially Bobo, my Superdog, the book that immortalised Michael’s own dear little dog.
So how very happy-making to re-share his wonderful Aussie Christmas book, which has remained a staple of both families and classrooms for many years. If you are one of the four people who don’t own a copy, why not buy it this year. You can buy it direct from Ford St Publishing.
This book was one of K’s most much-loved when she was a little ‘un and we re-read it many times curled up in my bed. Make it a tradition in your family this year, or buy it for a little person of your acquaintance. Don’t forget to visit Michael’s Cave for downloadable activities such as colouring in pages.
