Rather like the contretemps that happen during EB’s lead-up to Easter, as read in this secret diary, I was unable to get a review copy of this newbie from Adam Wallace because there were NONE left at the warehouse. But this bunny is made of sterner stuff and managed to snaffle a copy at the local library, because how could I pass up writing a review for any AW book? I mean, everyone needs a good quota of snort-laughs – am I right?
Via entries in this secret diary, kids will roll about laughing at the mishaps at the flashy Easter Egg factory, where everything that can go wrong seems to be doing so this year. From faulty machinery to best off-sider Barry being AWOL after a foil-wrapping incident, there is one catastrophe (bunny-astrophe?) after another, all of which will have your Smalls hooting with laughter.
As always, Adam’s text is highly amusing, slightly subversive and bound to be a real hit with all who read it. Shane McG illustrations are spot-on, particularly his rabbits – [perhaps I should request a portrait?]. It’s not too late to rush out and get a copy to add your Small’s Easter basket so hop to it!! Highly recommended for kiddos from around 4 years upwards.
Happy Easter everyone!!
