Little Ash is having a sleepover – and we all know how exciting that can be! She’s been so busy making a list of everything she needs to get ready, that her first guest – bestie James- arrives before she’s hardly started the actual preparations.
But with some help from her buddy, her sister and her mum, soon there are little sleeping tents set up in the loungeroom, each with a sleeping bag, cosy rug and party bag. The scene is set and the friends arrive.
And what fun they have together! Dress ups, and delicious build-your-own-pizzas followed by movies plus popcorn, it’s no wonder everyone starts getting tired. They are all ready for sleep – except for Ruthie who is suddenly homesick for her Gran. Poor Ruthie! Grandma is too far away to come get her, but Ash has a plan to make Ruthie feel better and calmer. And with everyone’s help, it works.
This is another lovely feel-good story about strong friendships and kindness.

And this is another adorable story, which eminently demonstrates the power of kindness. Ash’s sister, Ali, has a broken arm and it’s really making her miserable. Especially so, because today is family beach day and an hour’s drive away to meet up with aunt, uncle and cousin and have fun with the annual beachside tennis tournament – a matter of glory with a winning prize of choosing dessert for everyone.
Of course, Ash is always going to be a superstar, and Ali is very sad that no matter who she plays with, she will be no help at all. She’s pretty surprised when Ash doesn’t pick her as a partner, as she’d thought her little sister might help her, but instead, clever little Ash is playing to Ali, and can tailor her shots with her customary skill to enable Ali to actually return them.
What a kind sister she is! and what a superstar!
Even my littlest of kids to whom I’ve shared these stories, know Ash’s name and her fame. They just love these happy, warm stories of family, friends, school and sport and yours will as well. If you’ve not yet dipped into them, you really must have the whole series!
Highly recommended and of course a big serve 5 🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾 rating!! Game, set and match!
