I’m pretty confident when I say that anyone who knows me – even a little – will tell you I’m a pun person. I love punning. Some might call it a low form of humour. Personally I think fart jokes are lower. This is so much fun – and punny!
As if it’s not enough that wildebeest are odd looking animals, their alternate nomenclature of gnu (which is what I grew up with) just begs for puns. And Phil Cummings has excelled himself. I’m not saying your Smallest of Smalls will ‘get’ all the news/gnus puns but certainly those a little older will start to recognise terms they’ve heard before [although TBH, I hope not many of them are, in fact, watching the news].
And when you think about it, the variations on ‘news’ are multiple and I’m pretty sure they’re all covered here. It’s highly amusing and Daron Paton’s interpretation of the gnus is equally hilarious. So here is my take on the gnus straight in from the floor……

You might want to pick this one up before the end of the year – or if that elusive budget has already shut down – definitely get it up high on your list for 2025. I give it a 4 ๐๐๐๐ rating.
