Just So Stories

If you are an educator – either in a school or at home – and have been looking for a quality creative writing program for your students, look no further. Award-winning author Dee White, with her co-creator (and son) Nick White have created a wonderful self-paced course for young writers which is richly engaging, encouraging and empowering.

Speaking from the point of view of an ‘older’ writer, I found the course to be greatly appealing and, it was easy to see how beneficial it could be, whether in a classroom or homeschool setting. It is presented in text and design in a very visually aesthetic way and is simple to navigate – which means that even those inexperienced with working in this space will be able to achieve the end goal.

My teacher brain immediately went to the premise of those kids we always want to extend, for example. Those keen beans could work their way through this course independently, leaving the teacher free to support those who need some extra attention. My next thought was how I wished this was on offer when my kiddos were ‘in training’ for Write a Book in a Day! And then my writerly brain went – this is really good!

The course is both structured enough to be rigorous, while also open-ended enough to allow for self-expression and individuality. In this aspect, it fits equally comfortably with both primary and secondary students.

I know Dee not only in her role as a published author, but as a writing mentor, I can attest to her open and honest approach as well as her commitment to helping one improve one’s writing.

I feel privileged to have been a test-driver for this program and can only give it my most fulsome recommendation. And costwise? It’s a bargain IMO.
