What a darling book this is and how pleased I am that it has come my way. It is essentially very simple,but it is also so profoundly special as it expresses a mother’s heart and overwhelming love for her child.

That just says it all, doesn’t it? and the gorgeous illustration to match this piece of text, with the expectant mother choosing teeny clothes is so evocative. I’ll confess, I still love to see the tiny garments when I am in shops even though I have no one for whom to buy them. [well, ok, I did buy one cute miniscule little romper suit for my ancient Tedward because his last outfit was getting shabby.}

There are some truly sweet moments in this with the mum and bub walking on Country and enjoying the bounty of nature around them, teaching the Small to play clapsticks and the quantifying of that depth of feeling.
