Hooray for nonsense I say!! I know there’s a place for books with messages and deep themes but sometimes we all just need – as I used to tell the kiddos – a ‘lolly’ book. A book that is fun. A book that is light. A book that’s not making huge demands on us. Yes, a wholesome dinner is all very well in its place, but there’s nothing wrong with a lolly either!

G.O.A.T aka Goat is back and he’s L.O.L. which Duck just cannot fathom. I don’t know about you but I do know peeps who just say LOL and don’t actually laugh, so it’s hardly surprising that a Goat would do the same really. Needless to say there are a lot of possible interpretations of what LOL might be short for and Duck tries them all out, but none make Goat LOL at all! Until – bingo!- yep, Later, Old Lad does it and sets Goat off again.

Your Smalls will thoroughly enjoy this one and, no doubt, have fun coming up with some L.O.L. combinations of their own. Love your work Kate & Jol! and Rebel’s illos are once again spot on too! [I love that Duck is based on Rebel’s own duck! 🦆]
