While it may have taken it’s time to reach me, it’s here right in time to witch you all a spooktacular Halloween week! I love me a good pun – and a whole book of them? – I love that even more. This is totally a giggle-fest from go to whoa and both Smalls and Not-so-Smalls will laugh themselves silly with the constant flow of gags, supremely accompanied by Tom Jellett’s hilarious, and always unmistakable illustrations.
The family is dying to get out and about, looking absolutely boo-tiful all in their costumes, and start knocking on doors, but it’s pretty embarassing having Dad with his continual repartee – it’s certainly not lifting their spirits.
I sense that really Dad’s act is dying a slow and gruesome death with his family, the kids especially, even though he’s convinced he’s just creeping it real. I got tibia honest though, this father really does pull out all stops with his candy-corny jokes as the family goes round the streets. Some of his gags are pretty bad to the bone, others are dead funny and the skeleton ones are really humerus.
I’m not trick-(or-treat)ing you, this is absolutely eerie-sistible. You’ll have a terror-ific time sharing this with your kiddos and I will guarantee one reading will not satisfy them – they’ll be howling for more. What can I say? It’s spell-binding and you don’t want to miss it – I’m giving it a 5 ๐๐๐๐๐. And how fabulous does that book launch look? I’m haunted by the fact that I wasn’t in Adelaide for it.
Stay posted for a week of spooky books because this is our favourite time of the fear!
