There are lots of ‘look-alike’ critters in the animal kingdom and your readers will take great delight in this book which looks at many of those. The lively rhyming text will engage them and, of course, enable some prediction as you or they read.
And the fruitful discussions that can springboard from this, as it fits so neatly into your UoI, whether it’s Living Things or animals of certain habitats, will be both profitable and enjoyable.
Ashleigh has focused on animals that many Smalls will know and also added in some not so familiar. Amandine Thomas’ illustrations are quite delightful – though I have to say I found the entire warren of white wild rabbits rather unusual, to say the least [a slight diversion from fact there – trust me on a rabbit issue!].
There are some teaching notes to accompany this which will certainly assist you in either rounding out your teaching program or for quick one-off activities after a read-aloud. It gets a 4 ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ฆโโฌ from me for kiddos from around 2/3 years upwards.
