Clayton and Conor continue with their new insanely bonkers series, this time blasting off into space in the retro-fitted submarine now doubling as a spaceship. Twins, Billy and Poppy, plus their assorted menagerie (using the term loosely) of helpers determine to track down the reason for the sudden influx of many falling moon rocks. It takes very little for them to suspect those dastardly Fugitives could be behind the whole disaster but it’s a twisty ride to get to the pointy bit.
With the favourite whacky companions such as Robo-Elvis, The Duke of Webster and Harold, the apish assistant, they blast off from Monkey Island focussed on their mission to stop these dangerous missiles.
But by far, the scene stealer in this one is the weird alien sheriff, Jonwayn, riding his trusty steed, the space slug. Initially seeming quite obstructive to their mission, Jonwayn in his alternate role as space judge turns out (as one might expect) to be on the right side of justice after all.
Once again, the whole adventure is completely mad and positively ridiculous and exactly the sort of insane frolic your fans of Treehouse and its ilk will love. Being heavily illustrated with lots of short chapters and dynamic fonts, provides a really accessible read for those reluctant or challenged readers who will very happily and successfully tackle this series.
Well done to Clayton and Conor both, this is shaping up to be one of those madcap series that will continue with great success. It’s a 4 🚀🚀🚀🚀rating from me.
