Yes indeed, another anniversary edition that makes me think OH MY! it’s been that long I’ve been a librarian!! And another book that so many of us have read dozens of times, now coming to an entirely new audience and generation.

With it’s absolutely perfect rhyme scheme by Sheena Knowles, the clever interspersion of fact and the joyous uproariousness of Edwina’s search for a suitable job alongside Rod Clement’s stand-out illustrations, it’s been a favourite of so many since its first appearance.

The sequel to Edward the Emu has proven just as hilariously appreciated as the first and there are definite talking points to be had re mums who work in outside jobs, mums who work at home raising kids and ditto for dads.
