Off the Shelf: tailored service for libraries and creators

Sue Warren

With a career spanning 30 years, Sue brings a wide and deep experience of various library and managerial roles, across both private and state schools, primary and secondary as well as public library. She has been an effective and proactive change-maker as the head of several libraries in independent schools. In many of her settings, she has transformed both collections and processes in multiple positive ways, garnering respect and commendation from colleagues, students and community alike.

Whether it is the promotion and nurturing of a reading culture, staging special events, the provision of quality resources or leading guided inquiry across all year levels, Sue’s passion for her work has always been evident.

This extends to her professional ‘hobby’ of reviewing for numerous publishers from board books to adult novels and non-fiction, creating resources  and everything in between. Her blog, now in its 10th year, is well-regarded and supported by both educators and book creators, nationally and globally.

Her interest in bibliotherapy arose from this involvement, and she has undertaken professional development in this aspect of readers’ advisory. She has a particular interest in and knowledge of First Nations literature, arising from family connections as well as professional learning.
